Patients must wait until a caregiver is available to receive fluids, when fluid is available, cups are often out of reach or patients are unable to easily drink from them and spills are frequent. Accessible
Patients experiencing lack of strength, mobility, dexterity and/or sight often have difficulty accessing fluids whenever and without assistance causing dehydration which can lead to increased recovery times or deterioration of chronic health conditions. The MakH2OPak™ unique combination of features including an innovative bite valve, sealed 2 liter bag, comfortable anchoring handle and lengthy tubing gives patients control, increase comfort and restoration of personal dignity.
Measurable
Until now there has not been a tool to help caregivers easily and accurately monitor and record the fluid intake of patients in a consistent manner, making it difficult to recognize whether patients are getting the necessary oral fluids to maintain proper hydration. The MakH2OPak™ provides caregivers an easy and effective tool for managing patient oral hydration with a simple multi-day fluid intake guide, included on the bag. Actively marking patient fluid intake each day provides caregivers a precise and accurate account of three days fluid intake, transforming oral hydration into a consistent and simple patient-centric process.
Clean
In a healthcare setting it is vitally important that the products used are not vulnerable to contamination or harmful chemicals that may further complicate the patient's condition. To attain a safe and clean hydration solution, the MakH2OPak™ is designed to be odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, non-leaching, and smooth as glass. Also, by sealing the MakH2OPak™ it is protected from exposure to airborne contaminants. To maintain the cleanliness, every three days the bag should be replaced with a new one and the tubing portion rinsed with a low sud solution. Do this for up to 30 days then replace the entire system.
Portable
When a patient is on the go, handling cups and bottles can be an impossible task. The MakH2OPak™ has been designed to be lightweight and durable to go anywhere the patient goes. Whether it is attached to a walker, wheelchair, crutches, bed rail, or intravenous pole the patient has convenient access to fluids.
